How to Eat to Live

EAT TO LIVE AND NOT TO DIE


     Of all the thousands and tens of thousands of instruction items on health issued by doctors and scientists regarding the type of food that we should eat, none of them is equal to the way that Allah in the Person of Master Fard Muhammad, to Whom Praise be due forever had taught us.
     Eating one meal a day, one meal every other day or one meal every three days is a better way to obtain good health and long life than all of the tens of thousands of pamphlets and books authored by doctors, quack doctors and would be doctors.  The divine points out the best way that will produce good health.
       We should not stuff our stomachs with food just because
we have the food to put in our stomachs three times a day.
     Some people are foolish enough to think eating three or four times a day is really the way to obtain good health but take a second thought of what you are doing.  You keep your stomach working all the time trying to digest the surplus food for which your stomach has not even asked.
     He Master Fard Muhammad (God in Person) taught me never to eat when I am not hungry.  He taught me to wait until I am fully hungry then to eat until I am full and not to eat again until I am really hungry.  This is common sense.
    
The pig eats all the time; the chicken eats all the time--as long as you give them food to eat--and their span of life is significantly short.
     The dog is greedy, but the hog is greedier. The dog will stop eating when it has eaten enough.  If you continue to feed it, it will try to store the food until such time that it is hungry.
      Often, you hear people say, " Come on and eat" and one will say, " I am not hungry." The reply is: "Eat before you get hungry." This is most unwise. It is inviting sickness and death.
      The mucous-forming foods eaten by the people should be replaced with such less mucous-forming foods as plenty of vegetables and fruits.
       Whole wheat bread should be eaten instead of white bread, which is mucous-forming.
        Let us try not to eat so much meat--especially animal flesh. No meat is good for good health and longevity.  We must stop eating meat gradually because actually, meat is not by nature a food for human consumptions.
       Eating one meal once a day or once every two days, with no meals between, gives the body time to rest the digestive machinery after the previous meal and this gives the blood time to purify itself of the poison from the last meal.
     After three days without taking food into the body, the blood is found to be in much better condition.
     Let us see if we can gradually stop eating animal flesh and chickens or fowls of any kind.

EAT TO LIVE AND NOT TO DIE.

    
Please do not be mistaken about this teaching of HOW TO EAT TO LIVE, in a world in which you can get everything to eat , from the low and most unwanted creature of the earth, all the way back to human beings, themselves.  This world eats anything and everything.  They eat both good foods and bad foods and they always try to establish some new food or new style of preparing new foods.  Do not try to keep up with them in their way of teaching, lest you find yourself keeping up with them to the graveyard.  You do not have to take anything that the white race says for truth. The answer can be found in our own lives. Doctor and patients lived about an equal length of time.  This shows that their way of teaching you and me is that of "hill of mountain." You will not live as long as a hill or a mountain. Your life is short and you follow their way 75, 80,  and 90 years is nothing to what you should be living, if you only knew the right kinds of food that you should eat and abide by the rules and teaching of that type of food. We suffer with many aliments due to the improper foods and the improper time to eat. You have no regularity about when you are going to eat.  Then your sickness, the consequences of an ignorant way of eating, will also have no regularity about it. The patient can be made to enjoy better health while having sickness and disease, if he eats at the proper time and eats the proper foods. Follow the right way of HOW TO EAT TO LIVE.
     A HIGH percentage of blood sugar is a very dominate thing among the people but that blood sugar can be controlled if you eat right. You would not even know you had it, or that it is in you. We must eat the foods that will destroy sickness and disease.


SCIENCE
Understand your body and the foods you eat.

Good health leads to physical and mental well being.  Healthy people generally feel good and function well. Eating the wrong foods makes you think and act wrong. Over eating makes you restless and mentally fatigue, which result in a temporary loss of mental and physical power to respond quickly, the body is under stress from over eating. The most important aspect of good health is proper nutrition. Nutrition is the study of food and its use by the human body.  Nutrients, or substances needed by the body for life activities, include water minerals, carbohydrates, fats, proteins and vitamins.  Exercise, rest, good personal hygiene, medical and dental care are also essential to good health.
     The human body is approximately between 60 and 75 per cent water. The human body follows the same law as the Earth which has the same approximate water supply 3/4 of the Earths surface is under water. Therefore, water is one of the most important nutrients needed by the body. In fact , the human body can exist without food for at least one month, but it can only go with water for a few days. The body uses water to break down foods.  Water then carries the other nutrients provided by food to various parts of the body through the blood.  Water also helps to carry wastes from the body.  Urine and perspiration are mostly water.
     In addition to proper nutrition, exercise is important to good health. Exercise strengthens muscles and improves the efficiency of the circulatory and respiratory systems. In science all things are in constant motion, stagnation brings about death. Walking, bicycling, jogging, swimming, or karate are a few forms of exercise that lead to a healthy body. To receive the most benefits from an exercise program, a person should begin gradually.  An exercise program should begin slowly and build up to a level that  will maintain strong muscles and a healthy heart. Make sure that you have your body checked out before you start any physical program. Ideally a person should exercise four or five days a week, varying the amount of exercise done daily.  It has been shown that a once a week vigorous activity such as hand ball is of little benefit and may even harm someone who is out of shape.
     Everyone needs sleep, but the amount of sleep needed varies from person to person. Most adults of today sleep from seven to eight hours per day, because they eat to much food, which make the body need more rest. Young children may need more sleep than adults because of growth. When a person sleeps the body relaxes and repairs itself.  Life processes slows down.  Sleep restores energy needed by the body after a good night's sleep, the body is refreshed.
     Rest and relaxation are as important to the human body as sleep.  Activities that differ from the normal work or study routine provide a change of pace and help to relieve tension. Tension and stress poisons the blood.
     Personal hygiene enhances over all health.  Regular care of skin, hair,nails and teeth can prevent diseases and the transmission of certain diseases. Skin is a body organ that regulates temperature and provides a barrier against certain diseases. A healthy person keeps the body clean inside and outside. Take a total  bath at least once in 24 hours. This help keep the pores open in the skin to release poison, and it washes off any germs that you may have picked up during the day. Dirt, oils, bacteria and perspiration from the outer layer of the skin should be washed away daily. Hair and nails should be taken care of regularly.
     Gum disease  is cause by eating to much of the wrong food and not taking care of the mouth or good oral hygiene. Good dental hygiene is essential  to a healthy mouth. Plaque, a sticky material that forms on teeth within 20 minutes after eating is harmful to dental health. Some scientist believe that plaque can cause heart disease. Brushing and flossing teeth can remove plaque and stop it from forming on teeth. STUDY YOUR BODY AND LEARN TO EAT TO LIVE. Good thoughts brings about good mental health, the Remembrance of Allah is the Greatest Force to ward off evil.
The food you eat is not in a form that your body cells can use.  After you swallow foods are changed by a process of digestion.  The food is changed into materials that can enter your bloodstream.  Your blood carries these food materials to all of your body cells.
     Nutrients are the materials in food that are used by your body. There are five important nutrients in foods. You need these nutrients and water to keep you healthy.
1. Proteins: protein is a nutrient that makes up a large part of your body cells. It is  used by cells for growth and repair. Proteins also supply some of the bodies energy. This is just some of the functions of proteins in the body.
2. Carbohydrates: carbohydrates are nutrients that give your body energy.  Your body cells use or burn carbohydrates.  Heat results from the burning. The heat helps keep your body warm.
     There are two kinds of carbohydrates.  They are starches and sugars. Starches are found in bread, rice., potatoes, and noodles. Natural sugar is found in fruits and some vegetables.
     Some sugar may be added to food to make it sweet.  Processed sugar gives you energy, but does not help your body and mind in other ways.  Food that contain natural sugars gives you energy and other nutrients .  For good health you should not eat any processed sugar, or eat very little.
3. Fats: Fats are found in whole milk, butter, and margarine. There are also fats in ice cream, and meats, but in most people these sources form mucous. Fats are nutrients that give your body energy and help you body store energy and vitamins.
4 Minerals;  Minerals are nutrients that are needed for many action in your body. Minerals help your muscles and nerves work. There are many different minerals You will get the all the minerals you need from eating the proper food.
